Coming Through
5 years after developed the piece called coming through, I realised that it was about founding the right place:
the right place to stop
and the right place to move.
I was focused on the idea of not creating a dramaturgy but generating a common experience with the audience. But however the audience expects I had the need of creating an specific situation where I could bring down this wall that means for me “ to have expectation”
So I decided to work with live sound as a way of creating this sensorial common surface. (And since then I’m very interested on introducing sound as a very important ingredient)
The sound appears making the space visible as a volume and giving to me the possibility of through it. In fact, the sound it was one frequency, modulating up and down in a continuum. The sound that we was working on, had the quality to affect fiscally on the body of people watching, and then it make people are moveing during the performance ( in a not conscience way)
So audience is looking at me but I was looking at them. And in this kind of «democratic» experience where we dance one in front to the other, or we see each other where the communication appears sometime in the middle of both,
That performance It wasn’t about to expose the idea of been equals, It wasn’t about to expose any idea in fact. It was more an aesthetical opening experience that we shared through a sensory way
I walk, I stop, I move…
so then it was audience and me together who decided the performance it was enough.
