expanding energy is a piece that tries to prepare people for the tremendous shift that’s necessary to sustain our planet. by using the theme “energy” we’ll aim to go beyond the climate change arguments and draw interconnecting lines through politics, religion, science and the body. this will not be an environmental art piece but one that looks at the environment we live in and tries to reflect back what’s actually going on. it will open up doors on issues of energy security, question the validity of gods involvement, test limitations of the physical body, and challenge the solutions to create a better energy for future generations. everywhere you look the there are contradictions and only by accurately reflecting these, will we be able to better understand the possible “collective good” we might all participate within together.
we aim in expanding energy to explore “energy” in all of it’s masked faces from the laws themselves to the actual amount of lobbying energy it takes to make or change a law. we hope by digging into the political agendas, scientific possibilities, economic realities and even the physical limitations we’ll be able to challenge, confront and possibly answer some of the questions that are surrounding us today.
