Forum  Dança introduces, in 2009, a new residence programme for creation projects –  RESIDÊNCIAS NO EDIFÍCIO.
The recent move for the new space in Alcântara,  EDIFÍCIO, allows news ways of supporting the artistic creation, namely by  emerging artists.
Therefore, our proposal for this first edition is to  support two creation projects in dance and/or  performance.

There will be more editions of RESIDÊNCIAS NO  EDIFÍCIO, organized alongside with O Rumo do Fumo.

Eligibility of the  project

–  The project has to be presented by an emerging artist (with max 3 works  presented in professional context);
– The project has to be an original  work, in creation process and not yet premiered

Application

Send application by post or e-mail until May  26th,  with the  following info:

a) Identification of the responsible(s) for the  project

About the residences

Two  residency projects supported and selected by Forum Dança:
–  Residence period: from 15th to  30th August,  and  from 5th to  20th  September, 2009;
– Grant of 1300 € per project;
– Promoting support,  by e-mailing (1500  contacts, in dance and performing arts area, portuguese and foreign);  printing 50 posters A3 size black/white; reference in www.forumdanca.pt)
– Consulting in executive  production;
– Travel,  accommodation and health care coverage are taken care by the  participants.

Residence  Spaces 

Studio 1
– 150 m2, with black dance floor
–  Audio equipment: 2 amplified speakers, mixing board, 3 microphone inputs, CD  player (MP3 compatible)
– Video equipment: DVD player, TV, datashow (PC  not available)

Studio 3
– 75 m2, with black dance floor
–  Audio equipment: 2 speakers, amplifier, CD/DVD player
– Video equipment:  DVD player, TV, datashow (PC not available)

Facilities
–  Kitchen with microwaves and fridge
– Bathrooms with hot shower
–  Specialized Documentation Centre
– Classroom  (reservation needed) – Wireless  internet
– PC and printer available for production work

Terms

– Final  public presentation, in the residence space, as an informal showing,  conversation and/or workshop;
– Mention Forum Dança/Edifício as  Support;
– Inclusion of Forum Dança’s logo in every project promotion  material – Offer of video material for the Documentation  Centre;

Final Result

The selected  projects will be announced until June, 21st, 2009,  by e-mail to  all candidates.
