Uno de los mayores terrores del ser humano es la soledad, no tanto referida a la soledad física, si no a la que se genera ante las propias decisiones y al arrostrar nuestro propio destino como mortales.

Quisiera recrear uno de esos momentos de soledad, dándole un giro positivo. Eliminar la parte que nos asusta y compartirlo con quien lo desee. Se trata , simplemente, de estar juntos y tranquilos en esta casa de cristal. Relajados, escuchar. Escucharnos unos a otros y escucharnos a nosotros mismos. El elemento básico en su trabajo se centra en el cuerpo como semilla, herramienta y lenguaje. En 2005 comienza trabajando sobre género y prostitución. En 2008, el proyecto “Soy Sangre”, trabajo plástico usando el cuerpo y la sangre menstrual como única materia. En la actualidad, Instalación “Bustos55/09-Piso Conyugal”, investigación y homenaje a las víctimas de genero. Desde hace más de un año, vive y proyecta en la montaña hacia un espacio de investigación, encuentro y convivencia, considerando la vida como el mayor arte.

Mi obra de Arte de acción tiene como rasgos comunes el uso de mi propio cuerpo como soporte, como medio y como mensaje. También juega la ironía, la denuncia y el trabajo que parte de la emoción y de lo más profundo del ser. De ahí es de donde parte la serie “Tiempo de desapego” que surgió en 2003 y hoy continúa así como “Yo palpito”, recién comenzada.
También me interesa el aspecto lúdico y reflexivo de las acciones “Yo soy otro tú”(con máscaras de espejo), “Relatas delatas” (utilizando latas de refresco aplastadas por los coches en la calle) o “La fuente”.

Laura García Hernández (sibilademente, Franco) es una artista intermedia, que explora nuevos territorios de prácticas artísticas, se desplaza de entre zonas consideradas como estancas de la literatura, la música, la performance, la instalación, el vídeo entre otras.

Es activista visual y practica acción directa junto con su dupla Said Dokins.

Exploro modos de relación interpersonal prohibidos, perseguidos y penados en mi país de origen. Por ejemplo, el lesbianismo. Declararse lesbiana en China equivale a firmar la propia sentencia de muerte.
“Cuerpos que importan” transcurre con discontinuidades apreciables, hay pequeños momentos de acción e inacción intercalados, que es el modo en que funcionan los derechos humanos en mi país de origen: a veces se pueden defender, aunque con extrema prudencia, otras, no se puede ni pensar en ejercer siquiera los fundamentales, porque su ejercicio conduce directamente a la sentencia de muerte o a la carcel.
La lentitud y esa manera de congelarse que tiene la imagen, permite observar con una fugaz atención adicional un comportamiento enteramente humano, natural.
Los contornos de las personas con comportamientos “heréticos” (léase, punibles, censurados, reprobados por el poder) son difusos, quizás porque no son auténticas personas para las autoridades políticas, sino animales o seres depravados.
No hay audio, ya que en mi país la mayoría no tenemos ni voz ni voto.
“Cuerpos que importan” es una denuncia.
