A finals del segle passat Lars Von Trier va reclamar la figura de l’idiota com a posició política. La incapacitat de presentar-se en l’esfera pública és una de les definicions de l’idiotisme. Però actuar conscientment com un idiota és insultar i subvertir la nostra identitat social i política. Triar ser un idiota és clamar contra la comercialització de la nostra intimitat.
Dos performers, un amb discapacitat física i mental i un altre aparentment normal, s’encaren a l’idiotisme sota aquest test escènic absurd, tonto, imbècil, i carregat d’entusiasme inútil. Públic i performers estaran irremeiablement condemnats a provar les seves intel·ligències.
Aquest espectacle no pretén fer teatre social, ni reclama un espai per als discapacitats ni res de tot això. Aquests dos vénen aquí a fer coses estúpides, i en cap moment pretenen perdre la serietat del tema.
Soren Evinson
Va estudiar Art Dramàtic a l’Institut del Teatre. A Londres realitza un Master (MA Advanced Theatre Practice) a Central School of Speech and Drama on rep Matrícula d’Honor. Col·labora amb l’Oreet Ashery, la Karen Christopher, el Michael Thomas, i la Rosa Muñoz entre d’altres. Està ultimant When The Stories Hit The Fan juntament amb la Claire Thill i l’Irene Wernli i col·labora com a músic en diversos projectes.
Bernat de Gispert
Treballa al centre per discapacitats ATAM. Va ser alumne d’en Soren Evinson entre 2007–10 en un taller de teatre per discapacitats. Al 2012 el Soren truca al Bernat i a la seva família per proposar-los aquest projecte. El Bernat continua anant al taller de teatre cada setmana. |

Este espectáculo no pretende hacer teatro social, ni reclama un espacio para los discapacitados ni nada de todo eso. Estos dos vienen aquí a hacer cosas estúpidas, y en ningún momento pretenden perder la seriedad del tema.
Soren Evinson

At the turn of the last century, Lars Von Trierreclaimed the figure of the idiot as a political position. Idiocy could be defined as the incapacity to present oneself in the public sphere. But to consciously behave like an idiot is to insult and subvert our social and political identity. To choose to become an idiot is to speak out against the commercialization of our intimate lives.
Two performers, one who is mentally and physically disabled and the other, to all appearances, normal, take on idiocy as part of this absurd, asinine and imbecilic performative test, armed with useless enthusiasm. Audience and performers will be irretrievably compelled to try their intelligence.
This show is not social theatre, nor is it speaking for those with disabilities or anything like that. These two have come here to do stupid things, and at no point do they intend to lose sight of the seriousness of the subject.
Soren Evinson
Studied acting at the Institut del Teatre and completed his MA studies at the Central School of Speech and Drama (London University), where he was awarded a distinction. He has collaborated as a performer, writer and musician with Oreet Ashery, Karen Christopher, Michael Thomas and Rosa Muñoz amongst others. He is currently working on a new piece“When The Stories Hit The Fan” together withClaire Thill and Irene Wernli. He collaborates regularly as a musician in different projects.
Bernat de Gispert
Works at a centre for disabled adults, ATAM. Bernat attended Soren’s theatre workshop for people with mental disabilities between 2007 and 2010. In 2012 Soren called Bernat and his family and propose this project to them. Bernat still goes to the theatre workshop every week.
