The Swedish Dance History III – nueva convocatoria

THE SWEDISH DANCE HISTORY UNPUBLISHED

Yes, it’s time again – the third episode of TSDH is going on and it will be out before X-mas. We are now rushing into the last phase of collecting material, so far it’s more extensive than ever – more substantial and amazing. There is a shift of intention from last episode – this year we intend to print only non-published material.
Hey, what’s down there in your drawers that you didn’t put out or got refused – a novella not bad – we like that. Since TSDH is the most amazing dance publication ever you of course can not not contribute so start fiddling something together – we are waiting for you. And it’s not that much of a rush – you have until 30 November to collect yourself and jot it down – get going – no time to waste.

As usual, TSDH will support every proposition – nothing is pushed away – we love unconditionally – but we love harder the higher the stakes. Nobody gets paid but copies come for free, and you’re in the book.
This year we will use an ISBN number and it will be a little bit more legal.
The book will be put together in Stockholm and released 20 December so you will have your copy in the letterbox by X-mas. For the spring we will do a bunch of releases world wide obviously, so if not by X-mas there will be an event next to you. This year we will also go back to silver silver and make the book a little thinner – because of the paper – but still 1000 pages is the shit and we will surrender for anything.

The Swedish Dance History is a choreography in the form of book, initiated in 2009 by INPEX, the book is a claim from dance on dance and is set out to be published yearly for 20 consecutive years. Now it is time for the third edition!

The history of dance is initiated through dance, but it is writers that fasten it and its readers that secure it. The Swedish Dance History is dance’s claim on its own history, a history created and authorized by us who create dance and choreography. The Swedish Dance History is a collective effort to realize this history and ultimately
to claim the right to our future.

TSDH is an international publication written by more than 300 people from more than 50 countries and distributed for free all over the world.

The first year the book was made in Stockholm during one editorial day at PUB huset, the second year during an open editorial weekend at ImPulsTanz.

This year we want to give more time and will take whole three months from invitation to release (time is running out we have only three weeks left), with the ambition to write all the pages from scratch, or at least to only publish material that hasn’t yet been published. Use this opportunity to commission, challenge or excuse yourself or someone else to write the text that you wouldn’t
have written otherwise.

Produce by claiming and claim by producing. There are as many ways to produce the book as there are people engaged in it. Use The Swedish Dance History for your own good. What text would you want to read in the book? Invite the text to happen! What needs to be published that hasn’t yet been? Publish it! What do you need it for?

Unpublished Material

This year’s edition consists of newly written and unpublished texts and materials. Here we think that this may also include revised versions of earlier texts and «old» texts that have never been published.

ISBN number, and Creative Commons

We propose to obtain ISBN numbers for this year’s edition, which means that the book becomes more official and could be reviewed as a book in daily newspapers. We suggest that it is up to each participant in the book to decide on the use of Creative Commons license to their contributions. Otherwise the general CC will apply; Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported (CC BY-NC-SA 3.0)

Invitation and contact

Send an email to [the one that invited you] and emmakimhagdahl@gmail.com and let us know if and how you are going to participate and to keep a conversation and update along the way and an overview of the contributions.
